Documentary film is a powerful medium in our culture and can be used to tell extraordinary stories. Sharing these stories that help us see the world from a new perspective, challenges our beliefs, and transform our lives.

Sexuality, Intimacy and Disability

Sexuality is a fundamental aspect of the human experience and our self-expression. But what happens if we become physically disabled? Does our sexual life disappear or transform into something else?

I am psychologist creating a documentary film on sex, intimacy and disability. I am disabled myself from a spinal cord injury and have been on a path of rediscovering my sexual self. I believe that sexuality is a fundamental part of the human experience no matter our condition or circumstances. I want to share these stories with the world. If you are disabled or are in a relationship with someone who is please contact me. I want to hear your story. The intent of this film is to educate, inspire, and transform our views of sex, intimacy and disability.

Some of the questions to be explored:

  • How do you define your sexuality?
  • What is sexy and what turns you on?
  • How do you experience intimacy?
  • How has sex and intimacy changed for you because of your disability?
  • What are the common perceptions that people have about disability and sexuality?
  • As a disabled person how sexually active are you?
  • As an able-bodied person what is your sexual relationship like with your disabled partner?
